Type Locality and Naming

From the Tajik name of the red stone, Tajikistan. M.R. Jalilov, Yu.N. Andreev, F.Kh. Hakimov et al., 1971 (191, p.80). Stratotype in the estuarine part of the Gabirud River, Ravat village area.

Synonym: Sangisurhskaya Suite, Сангисурская св., Sangisurkh Fm


Lithology and Thickness

Fine-grained pink sandstones with phosphorite pebbles. Thickness 6m.

Lower contact

Conformably overlies the Kurut Fm
